Why order a National Criminal?
Research Services offers the National Criminal Index as a prescreen or pointer used in conjunction with other criminal searches. This search is not recommended as a standalone criminal report. It is very helpful in finding records outside of the county or statewide where the employee resides.
The National Criminal Index includes records from statewide repositories, archives, administrator of courts and departments of corrections databases. It also covers a nationwide sex offender search.
When using databases like the national criminal database, Research Services requires that criminal case information is verified with a county or statewide report. Any information that could result in taking adverse action on a potential or current employee will require further research. Performing this additional research is key to ensuring the criminal cases are complete and up to date. Additional charges may be incurred when verifying these records at court-house/state repository.
Turnaround Time: Typically Able To Be Returned Same Day or Next Day / Additional Time: 1-3 Business Days If A Record Needs To Be Validated.
